Every time I look at this painting I feel like entering a dream, because this hovering woman is made of the stuff of dreams. Dreams are made of fog and surreal colors, and in them everything comes together in a transcendent reality.

When you enter a dream, you enter a world of hidden meanings. Freud and Jung were the first who talk about it in scientific terms, and Freud first said "The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious activities of the mind".
This does not mean that you have to have a blind faith in a transcendent reality as may be the dream, but just be open to the messages of our own psyche. I find it outrageous that someone still talk about superstition when we they turn into the psychology of Freud or Jung, when it is obvious that for know in depth the human reality, it is necessary to study it in all its aspects. Dreams are a peculiar activity of many living beings, but, unlike other animals, humans can communicate their contents through words, and this is the most useful instrument to study the symbolism of the ancient and dark world, made of references to the past, both personal and of the species that is the human psyche.
What I find truly an amazing discovery is the law of enantiodromia which Jung places at the base of psychic functioning human: is for me undeniable that the man is always torn between two extremes, and that they often manifest through behaviors simultaneously ambiguous and contradictory. This can be traced in dreams, and for that, I find that they are so charming and seductive. Everyone has the constant desire to do the opposite of everything ... Tell me if it is not so!
